The Department of Political Science is one of the oldest departments of Udalguri College. During that period, there was not a single subject at the BA level with Major subjects. All subjects were simple BA pass courses. Subsequently, a Major course in Political science was introduced in the year of 1991. The founding Head of the Department was Mr Prafulla Kr. Basumatary followed by Mr Ranjit Daimari and presently Ms Neeta Das has been serving as the HOD. Since its inception, the department has been striving hard to provide quality education to the students in this area.

Mission: The mission of the department is to inculcate the theoretical knowledge of the subject to the student.

Vision: To build leadership quality among the students.
